I’ve never done therapy before-
Where do I begin?

What does therapy look like? I’ve seen weird examples on TV and don’t know what I’m signing up for!

Therapy should be personalized, which means doing therapy with me will be different from doing it with anyone else! It’s a clinical relationship where we create space for you to show up and grow into an awareness of what is working in your life and what is not. We’ll chat, we’ll talk, we’ll figure out what is important for you, and that will determine what therapy will look like.

How long will I be in therapy?

That’s depends on what we’re addressing. If we are doing little changes within your life and single issues, theoretically, 6-8 sessions might be enough. However, most of the time, going to therapy is like going to the gym- there is an initial novelty and confusion and I’m left sore after going only a couple times without any real long term results. However, if we keep going, we see significant results between 6-8 months of working with one another. Other individuals have worked with me for 18+ months as they do a complete remodel within their life. Entirely up to you.

How long is each session?

My sessions are 50 minutes long, give or take a few minutes. The last 10 minutes are used for doing my notes, consulting with others, and planning for our next session.

How much does therapy cost?

Therapy isn’t cheap, but it should be available to others. If you have difficulty paying for therapy, send me an email and we’ll come to a realistic option for you with a sliding scale. My normal rates are listed below-

  • Individual Session - $130

  • Couples Session - $180

  • Family Session - $200

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy creates a space for self growth. That means leaving what I know today and discovering more about self, possibly growing beyond what I value today. Some individuals struggle with leaving behind what is good today for what might be better tomorrow. If you are willing to explore new ways of carrying self and new ways of interacting with the world, you’ll be a prime candidate to grow while participating in therapy.

Do you take insurance?

I see individuals with insurance through a liaison company called Alma. Through them, I take the following insurances- United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Colorado Access.
